Signs Are Landmarks, Promoting Brands and Communities

Signs give communities their flavor. Whether it be Golden Arches, Wall Drug or The Happiest Place On Earth, a great sign can make your location iconic. When a sign has reached that level, it’s transcended solely promoting a business’ brand. It’s now part […]

Getting the Sign Colors Right

Brand colors need to be consistent to project the full power of your marketing. An error in coloring will be noticed, whether overtly by those with discerning eyes, or subtly and even subconsciously by onlookers. On the other hand, the right colors can be associated with a specific brand even before the audience sees the logo itself.

What kinds of signs do you need for your business?

There are so many types of signage that appear inside and outside of office buildings, commercial properties, hospitals and campuses. Each one gives an impression to all who work and visit there. What is your property signage saying? Let’s look at a few of the many ways your signage can help give your property appeal – or turn your visitors away.

Legibility and Color Combinations Help Make Your Messages Seen

Signs are how a business or establishment conveys its branding to the world and attracts potential customers. Done right, a good sign will project a brand to new heights of visibility and contribute to a bustling business. Done wrong, a bad sign will undermine a brand, diminish people’s confidence in a business or just do nothing to promote it, resulting in tepid or even lessened sales.

“Custom” Means Exactly The Sign You Need

We need to have a feel for our clients and what their business is all about. What do they do and what are their customers looking for? What makes them different? What “culture” are they trying to convey through their signage? This is one of the subtler parts of the sign making process, where the art and craft connects with customer service. Only then can we focus on the particulars.

Routed and Carved Sign Panels Make a Lasting Impression

After creating beautiful sandblasted plaques for their Administration Building, High School and podiums, the Malverne UFSD administration brought Signwave back to recognize their Middle School, Intermediate School and Elementary School for being awarded “Blue Ribbon” status….We created a similar design for all three schools to assure a unified look to their district.

Sandblasted Signs For Schools – What A Relief!

Sandblasting is one of several techniques used to create beautiful dimensional signs that can stand up to the elements. For this project, a block of High Density Urethane (HDU) was sawn and routed to size and shape. A vinyl mask was created to block off those areas not to be abraded by the blasting material, and the material (“sand”) was selected to provide the proper texture and density.

Is Dimensional Signage Right For Your Lobby?

The most popular option for lobby signs is to render the logo with dimensional letters and logo shapes. These can be fabricated from acrylic, PVC, metal, wood or various other materials. They can have various finishes – gloss or matte, metallic or clear, wood grain. The dimensional characters can be mounted flush to the wall, on spacers, or mounted to a backer panel made of a variety of material and shape choices. If your company logo includes thin, delicate lines, there are still dimensional options available. Logos can be routed, engraved or carved in relief – on metal, wood, acrylic or PVC.

Custom Street Signs Enhance Community Aesthetics

Country Pointe, a distinctive Long Island community, needed to replace street signs that were faded and illegible at worst; pedestrian at best. The Board Of Directors was looking not just to replace the signage but to upgrade the look and feel of the suburban landscape. By the time they found Signwave, they were nearly exasperated. It had been hard to find a sign company that would take their vision seriously.
